CUNY Games Network

Visit our website at http://games.commons.gc.cuny.edu (or by clicking the Visit Blog link on the left).

We connect educators from every campus and discipline at CUNY who are interested in games, simulations, and other forms of interactive teaching. We seek to facilitate the pedagogical uses of both digital and non-digital games, improve student success, and encourage research and scholarship in the developing field of games-based learning.

CFP: book of games for teaching

  • Hi everyone,

I’m forwarding along a call for papers for a book to be published later this year (attached): Let the Games Begin! Engaging Students with Interactive Information Literacy Instruction. The book includes short essays describing classroom games teaching various aspects of information literacy: how to find, evaluate and use information ethically (I often describe it as research methods + critical thinking).

The editors are actively seeking contributions. (Full disclosure: I’ve contributed a game I used last semester to teach students how to evaluate internet sources.) Please let me know if you have any questions and I can put you in touch directly with the editors.

    Best,
    Maura
