Thanks, Sara. I logged in again and this time it worked. I really and truly scrolled all over the page before and the consent button never appeared. It didn’t give me any place to enter the module. But of course now it worked! Just like our office copier. It only works after I’ve told someone I think it’s broken. 😉

With apologies that I am a little behind on my homework, I’m having trouble completing all parts of Module 7. I’ve created an account on the Teacher Moments site, but I am not seeing all of the same steps described in the instructions document. I’m not getting the option to agree to the consent agreement and see the attached screenshot instead. Is…[Read more]

What are your thoughts on the teacher candidate visual resource?

Like Vee, I am a big fan of graphic novels, so I really appreciated the opportunity to interact with these stories through that medium. (I also loved reading Power On earlier!) This reminded me that I should continue to look for resources to share info with my students that are…[Read more]

I loved reviewing the materials for this module and really appreciate that the CITE project is centering equity in this work. It was upsetting but not surprising to learn that, in the initial roll out of CS4All, the very problems that the program were seeking to address were being reproduced: that access to CS was in fact NOT reaching schools and…[Read more]

Hi all, I came across a meme related to this topic that was too good not to share. I wasn’t able to attach it the first time but I’m trying again now that I made the file size smaller. Related question: Does anyone know how to insert a JPG from your computer into a thread here with the “Insert/Edit Image” button at the top, rather than the Upload…[Read more]

I decided to use Loopy, because I’ve never seen it and I like the idea of using an open source too. Here’s my visualization of my design process.

BTW, it seems to open best in chrome. When I tried copying the link to another browser it was not…[Read more]

Beautiful, Mindi! I’ve only used jamboard in very simplified ways so you are inspiring me. I always love your photos. 🙂

This is so cool, Jolie! I agree that I was super inspired by Sara’s timeline project demo. I love the idea of using padlet and/or slightly more low tech tools than Knightlab for your first test of the project.

When you share how to videos (youtube etc.) that demo how to use programs, it would be great to have resources for macs as well as pcs. I’m trying to follow along on the youtube for pivot tables, but it seems like the menus are a little different than what I see on my mac. I’m going to try to spelunk on my own to find some other resources, but if…[Read more]

Hi all, Kirsten Cole (she/her) I teach in BMCC’s ECE program, in the ECP (preschool-second grade) specialization.

I had a really hard time narrowing down to only five cards. I agreed strongly with many of the other values, so to help me narrow down my responses I tried to focus on the issues that I feel are most pertinent to my work in…[Read more]

Hi! I’m Kirsten Cole (she/her) from BMCC.

For this module I looked around the commons and updated my profile a little bit. I am having trouble understanding all of the layers of the commons (groups vs sites etc) so I hope that will make more sense soon.

I enjoyed exploring some of the tools we’ll be using together. I am very interested in…[Read more]
