We’re wrapping up our modeling discussion this week! The tidymodels package ecosystem is a promising framework for statistical modeling and machine learning in R. Previously, we went over Step 1: Build a Model, Step 2: Preprocess your data with recipes, and Step 3: Evaluate your model with resampling on the tidymodels website. This week we’re going over Step 4: Tune model parameters. There’s a fifth step that brings everything together with a case study, and I encourage folks to take a crack at it if you can! If you don’t have time to go over the tutorials, no worries. Come join anyways. If you do have time, have fun and see if you can apply the concepts to a new data set! As always, if you have other R problems, topics, or accomplishments you want to talk about, bring them with you. The link to the Zoom meeting is posted below.
