GC Digital Initiatives at the CUNY Graduate Center

This group accompanies the the GCDI website (http://gcdi.commons.gc.cuny.edu/). Here, members of the GC community can share news of recent events and new projects and can begin to build connections between projects.

  • Feb 6th: Commons Open Community Meeting

    As members of the GC Digital Initiatives group, you are invited to join the next Commons Open Community meeting to connect with other CUNY folks working on digital projects on the platform. We’d also love to hear from you about how you’re using the Commons to develop your own projects and build cross-project connections. More details below.

    Community Meeting: February 6th 

    Starting in Spring 2025, the CUNY Academic Commons team began hosting semesterly open community meetings to update members on development work on the Commons, get feedback from users, and showcase robust projects.

    Join us on February 6, 2026 from 1-2pm for our next Open Community Meeting, where we will hear from Ned Benton who developed the New York Slavery Records Index, an online searchable compilation of records that identify individual enslaved persons and enslavers in the Northeast United States.Register for the February 6th meeting to receive the Zoom link.

    We have another open community meeting scheduled for Friday, May 8th, from 1-2pm, to close out the semester. Register for the May 8th meeting here!
