The Center for Integrated Language Communities (CILC), a National Language Resource Center housed at the Graduate Center that focuses on language education at minority serving institutions is looking for a WordPress website designer and research assistant to (1) oversee the migration and maintenance of multiple websites housed on the CUNY Academic Commons, and (2) assist with applied linguistics research. These responsibilities will be carried out in consultation with other CILC staff members.
Position Details:
Title: Website Designer and Research Assistant
Compensation: Depending on experience, paid through the RF CUNY
Hours: 6 hours per week, part time
Start: 08/15/2022
End: Position available into the early summer 2023, with the possibility of extension
Location: Mostly remote, some hours on site at the Graduate Center, 365 Fifth Ave., NY, NY
Responsibilities Include:
Migrating, creating, maintaining, and managing several websites related to CILC’s projects, using WordPress on the CUNY Academic Commons
Assisting with applied linguistics research, such as data collection, cleaning, and coding
Successful Candidates Will Have:
Intermediate-advanced WordPress site design knowledge, including plugins, themes, and using post categories for site organization (some Commons support will be available)
Strong problem-solving skills
Strong writing, editing skills
Knowledge of Excel
Some knowledge of CSS code
Wix knowledge a plus
Ability to work independently
Available to start working on August 15th, 2022
