  • Hi hi! Aankit Patel, University Dean for Tech and Computing supporting all things computing and data science across CUNY. I like doing weird, creative things with computers and will often use AI to help me code. I believe strongly that CUNY should help communities find ways to use computing to bring people together, support them in achieving their goals, and to express themselves in new and fun ways.

Hi All! I teach philosophy of education/teacher education at York College and it’s been an interesting time to be in this field, to say the least. My approach is to use AI developments to spark deeper philosophical discussions. I wrote an article on this back in 2023.

For the past year, I’ve been specializing in custom bots/GPTs as a means to empower faculty and bridge the digital divide. Related to this work, I just finished my OER on student-made bots, and am also celebrating one year of a custom bots/GPTs showcase series featuring faculty/staff from around the world.

It’s great to connect here with all of you! Shout out to two wonderful communities of practice as well that led me to today — Computing Integrated Teacher Education (CITE) and Building Bridges of Knowledge (BBK).
