Feb 6th: Commons Open Community Meeting
Posted by Laurie Hurson (she/her) on January 28, 2026 at 9:00 amHi Folks, as members of the Teaching and Learning Center group on the Commons, you all are invited to join the next Commons Open Community Meeting to connect with fellow members and learn more about pedagogical and research projects that are being developed on the platform. We’d also love to learn more about your experiences teaching on the Commons and hear any ideas you have for better supporting teaching on the platform!
Community Meeting: February 6th
Starting in Spring 2025, the CUNY Academic Commons team began hosting semesterly open community meetings to update members on development work on the Commons, get feedback from users, and showcase robust projects.
Join us on February 6, 2026 from 1-2pm for our next Open Community Meeting, where we will hear from Ned Benton who developed the New York Slavery Records Index, an online searchable compilation of records that identify individual enslaved persons and enslavers in the Northeast United States.
Register for the February 6th meeting to receive the Zoom link.
We have another open community meeting scheduled for Friday, May 8th, from 1-2pm, to close out the semester. Register for the May 8th meeting here!
