Internet Research Team

The Internet Research Team is a student-led group of scholars interested in exploring, discussing, and using online and digital research methods. The group also includes faculty and staff and meets regularly throughout the year. We invite people of all levels of technical skills who are conducting or have an interest in online and digital research to join the group here on the Commons and attend the meetings.

Interest in getting institutional support for hackathons?

  • This message is from Suzanne Tamang:

Although in its infant stages, there is a idea to develop a STF proposal to request that funds be set aside for ad-hoc student groups, chartered orgs or departments to have hackathons type events at the GC. There seems to be a growing interest from across disciplines, and a lack of resources for students to organize these events as much as they’d like. In addition to providing financial resources, this proposal would ideally help to foster a `culture of hacking’ at our school (as Evan so nicely phrased it).

There are four of us right now, but I think it would be great to get more students involved. If anyone might be interested in working with us, please contact Evan’s @ evanmisshula@gmail.com, or me @ suzanne.tamang@gmail.com.
