Digital Humanities Initiative

The CUNY Digital Humanities Initiative (CUNY DHI), launched in Fall 2010, aims to build connections and community among those at CUNY who are applying digital technologies to scholarship and pedagogy in the humanities. All are welcome: faculty, students, and technologists, experienced practitioners and beginning DHers, enthusiasts and skeptics.

We meet regularly on- and offline to explore key topics in the Digital Humanities, and share our work, questions, and concerns. See our blog for more information on upcoming events (it’s also where we present our group’s work to a wider audience). Help edit the CUNY Digital Humanities Resource Guide, our first group project. And, of course, join the conversation on the Forum.

OER Student Showcase this Wednesday, 12pm

  • We invite members of the Graduate Center and CUNY community to join us for the OER Student Showcase on April 3rd from 12pm to 2pm in GC room C-202/203.

The OER showcase will feature a series of student panelists who will share scholarly and pedagogical projects that utilize Open Educational Resources (OER). Student panelists include: Maura McCreight (Art History), Onur Ayaz (English), Jamie Borgan (Social Welfare), and Kelsey Milian Lopez (Ethnomusicology).

We will discuss ideas for future OER projects and attendees will learn more about upcoming funded opportunities for creating open educational resources at CUNY.

Refreshments and lunch will be served, so we encourage you to register using this form.

This event is made possible through generous state funding to support OER at CUNY, as directed by the Office of Library Services, and is co-hosted by the Mina Rees Library’s Open Knowledge program, the Teaching and Learning Center, and the Graduate Center Digital Initiatives.

Please email library@gc.cuny.edu have any questions, and we look forward to seeing you there!
