having issues opening GIS

    Hello,
    I was wondering if anyone could help me out with an issue I am having with opening the ArcGIS program I recently installed on my computer. It seems that I haven’t set the license manager. I tried doing some trouble shooting without success.
    Error message:
    arcgis 10.7 could not connect to an arcgis license manager running on host not set

    Hey David,

    I can try to help you troubleshoot. First question is how are you getting access to ArcGIS? ArcGIS isnt free, like QGIS so youll need to purchase a license or have a license provided by an institution. Unfortunately the GC doesnt provide ArcGIS licenses, they just offer it on the library computers.

    Let me know some more details and we’ll take it from there.

    Thank you for responding. I actually posted this question a long time ago but for some reason it popped again. Someone from the arcGIS technical support team helped me solve the issue.
