    The CUNY Council of Chief Librarians shares the following statement of solidarity.

    The CUNY Council of Chief Librarians and the Office of Library Services condemn racial violence and police brutality perpetrated against Black Americans. Racism is rampant in our country and is often embedded in educational curriculum, policy and procedures, and hiring practices.

    We stand in solidarity and support of our Black colleagues and students, and commit to active anti-racist work in librarianship and higher education within and beyond CUNY.

    We endorse the Statement Condemning Increased Violence and Racism Towards Black
Americans and People of Color issued by the Black Caucus of the American Library Association.
