    • Apologies to Sean whose name I misspelled–it should be Sean Scanlan.

    • Monica–Thanks so much for sharing this column! Very illuminating.

And here are two news items on scholarly publishing and academic libraries:

      (1) The Iowa Review Launches Free Full Text Digital Archive & (2) Walt Whitman Quarterly Review Goes Open Access

      From The Iowa Review Blog:
The new Iowa Review archive contains the full text of virtually all the writing published in The Iowa Review from its founding in 1970 through 2011. We partnered with the University of Iowa Libraries’ Iowa Research Online service, which preserves and provides open access to the UI’s scholarly and creative work, and the digital library JSTOR, which creates a digital archive of the magazine’s back issues. UI digital scholarship librarian Wendy Robertson developed the site’s data infrastructure and user interface.

Walt Whitman Quarterly Review Goes Open Access

    • Madeline: Thanks for sharing the news about both of these publications.

For next year, it would be great if everyone can reach out to their colleagues on their campuses to get their open access stories. Using a simple email interview format proved easiest for all.

We’ll run a full story on NANO in our newsletter in the future.
