Hope everyone is enjoying the last couple weeks of August recess.
It would, nonetheless, be good to have our first organizational meeting before the first CAT meeting on Friday, August 26, if possible. Below is a Doodle scheduler with late afternoon options on Wednesday, August 24, and Thursday, August 25. We can use our first meeting to decide on how best to schedule meetings for Fall 2011 and what kind of goals we may wish to embrace as a group.
Research on ePortfolios, including SoTL projects, will loom large on most campuses, and we will want to address ways to get beyond simple quantification of retention and grades. Much impetus for innovative work will continue to come from the Connect to Learning FIPSE grant under Bret Eynon at LaGuardia, but also from AAEEBL. Joe Ugoretz is co-chairing next year’s AAEEBL Conference program committee — the theme will be ePortfolio Research.
Please let me know your availability. The meeting will be held online through GoToMeeting.
Unfortunately (fortunately?) I have 512 freshmen coming next week, and I am completely occupied with orientation on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Then Thursday I’m leaving for Israel for 10 days. So I will not be able to meet until after Labor Day. Shalom to all and see you in the fall! 🙂
