The teacher candidate perspectives were accurate in capturing what it can be like for many or most teacher candidates. There are times when you are able to make connections and apply what you have learned in  terms of the use of technology  in very meaningful and affective ways like Warwick and Rolla have. What stood out to me after reading Equitable CITE pedagogy is the goal of promoting joyful and meaningful learning.

In terms of technology education, being joyful may not be the general sense for all students especially when access to technology is limited. I believe that joyful and meaningful learning is achieved when technology is accessible…[Read more]

I enjoyed exploring the different tools that are new to me for this activity. At first, I started tinkering with Loopy but didn’t like that I was not able to add pictures to my design.

I think Padlet will be my new “go to” design tool. I really like that you can add videos, audio, link documents and even Gifs to your design. I used the canvas…[Read more]

Hi, my name is Keshia James and I am a 3k lead teacher at the childcare center at MEC.

Over the years, as our society evolve, as educators we have seen the growing need to integrate technology in our classrooms in some way. However, the pandemic has exasperated the need for technology education and exposed many new ways that technology can be…[Read more]

Hi, my name is Keshia James and I am the 3K lead teacher at the childcare center at Medgar Evers College. I use pronouns she/her to identify myself. It’s been some time since I’ve used the Commons for my graduate studies so it took me a while to get familiar. I enjoy making  and editing videos so Flipgrid was a fun new tool for me to explore. Look…[Read more]

David, your post made me smile. It is so important to have that optimism and knowing the impact your work will have. My biggest motivation during my graduate school journey is the impact I would have on my […]

I held my breath for “Simon Says” Powerful!!

It made me think of how control and inferiority (elements of slavery) are perpetuated in the classroom and school structure. More so, I think about the way Black […]

Patricia Matthew’s interview on the Brian Lehrer Show brought me back to my observation of the brick wall in last week’s reading. Faculty of color are surely given the short end of the stick on all aspects of […]

The whole idea that institutions would need committees to create diversity to me shows that there is a will to control rather than to “open-up” and be more accepting. It also makes the institution less […]
