Welcome (back) to PUG!
How PUG is working this Fall
We’ve started our Fall meetings of the Python Users’ Group (PUG). We meet every other Friday at 3:30pm, in the following dates (Oct 2nd, Oct 16th, Oct 30th, Nov 13th, Nov 20th, Dec 4th).

Meeting ID: 893 8919 4622One of our main goals this semester will be to support people who are brand new to Python. We will work together on the new Introduction to Python course. More information below.
But, “what if I’m already comfortable with foundational Python?” Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. As usual, we’ll have space on the meeting for discussing more advanced topics, talk about your own work, and help each other in whatever way we need. Depending on the number of people, we can split the meetings into breakout groups so everyone’s time is well spent.
Intro to Python course
For those who want to work on the fundamentals, this is the place to start. We want to make it a low stakes and casual atmosphere for learning.
The idea is for you to run the course in your own pace, and go as far as you want. We want to make sure you will be able to work on the course even if you joined PUG later in the semester, or in the case you had to miss a couple of our meetings.
During our meetings, we will: go over any issue/topic/example you’ve had problems with; bring some extra exercises/challenges for you to try; go deeper in any particular content.
An Important note on the state of the Intro to Python course
This is still an alpha version of the Intro to Python course. That means we are still working on it, and some of its functionality may not fully work yet. That is especially true depending on what browser you are using. Occasionally (rarely, I believe), the site will be out because we will be updating the contents.
The reality is, you will be the first ones to try this course, which is pretty cool in my opinion. Your feedback will be of immense value for us, and will help shaping the final version of this course, which hopefully will be used by a lot of people in the future. In sum, by taking this course and giving us feedback, you will be helping its development. Thank you for that!
