The Graduate Center Dissertation Fellowship Deadline is Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 12:00pm.
Attached are the application instructions and materials. Students will complete a brief portion of the application via student web and upload their application (cover sheet, proposal, cv, transcript) as a single Word or pdf document to a Provost’s Office dropbox. The link to this dropbox is included in the application instructions. A letter of reference must be provided by the applicant’s adviser, reference letters can be uploaded by faculty members to the same dropbox (see instructions.)
Applicants must be Level III no later than the registrar’s February 14, 2014 change of status deadline. Students who are currently at level II may apply if they expect to be level III by February 14. If they are not level III by February 14 their application will not be considered for funding.
On Tuesday, December 3 at 1:00pm in the Segal Theatre there will be an informational session for students interested in applying for the dissertation fellowships.
The application consists of the following materials:
1. Cover sheet (attached in both word and writable pdf format)
2. Proposal
a.) 9-page project description including a 150-word abstract (the abstract should be single-spaced at the top of page one). The project description should include discussion of the background, relevant literature, methodology, data, projected results, and a time-line indicating expected progress. It should be in 12-point font, double-spaced.
b.) 1-page selected bibliography
3. Two-page curriculum vitae.
4. Current Graduate Center transcript. (Students may submit the unofficial student copy that can be printed from banner.)
5. One letter of reference to be submitted by your adviser
All of your documents (except the reference letter) should be assembled as a single file in either pdf or Word format.
