Digital Humanities Initiative

The CUNY Digital Humanities Initiative (CUNY DHI), launched in Fall 2010, aims to build connections and community among those at CUNY who are applying digital technologies to scholarship and pedagogy in the humanities. All are welcome: faculty, students, and technologists, experienced practitioners and beginning DHers, enthusiasts and skeptics.

We meet regularly on- and offline to explore key topics in the Digital Humanities, and share our work, questions, and concerns. See our blog for more information on upcoming events (it’s also where we present our group’s work to a wider audience). Help edit the CUNY Digital Humanities Resource Guide, our first group project. And, of course, join the conversation on the Forum.

$1250 Room in 2BD Near Columbia University (utilities included)

  • I\’m renting a furnished room near City College (West Harlem) for the summer (06/01/22 – 08/31/22). The price is $1250 with deposit $625 and includes all utilities, where
the electric bill is $50 or less. Anything over $50 would be split by all
roommates and paid in addition to the rent.

There are two bedrooms, but it is very unlikely that anyone else would be in the apartment. At most, one of my family members might be in the second room a few days during your stay.

That being said, this is not an apartment rental, it is a room rental. So while you would be there by yourself most if not all of the time (and have full access to the apartment, except 2nd bedroom), you would not be able to treat it as your own space such as making any significant changes.

The apartment is furnished, it\’s small but comfortable and cozy in a
6-floor walkup. I\’m looking to start renting June 1st, but there is some
flexibility if these dates aren\’t good for you.

I\’m posting the room for a 3-month sublet, but if it works out, it would be no problem to stay as long as you need to.

Please send me an message if you\’re interested in learning more, and if
you\’re not in NY we can do a video tour.
