I am excited to share the following workshop opportunity with you. Please feel free to share with anyone at CUNY, all are welcome!!

Please join us for an Introduction to Manifold workshop where you will learn how to create beautiful, dynamic, multimedia digital projects that can include text, images, audio, video, and social annotation. We will provide an overview of Manifold, including the new authoring feature, and show you how it is being used at CUNY to create Open Educational Resources (OER) such as custom versions of public domain texts, multi-text course readers, class projects, and journals.

The workshop will include a hands-on section where you will have the opportunity to create your own Manifold Project, add a Text using a file (EPUB, Word .docx, Google Doc), explore the new text Editor, and add a Resource (image, audio, video, etc.) to your Project. We will also cover how to customize your project’s structure, look, and feel, and how you can participate in conversations in the margins of your texts using Manifold’s built-in social annotation feature.

CUNY’s Manifold instance serves as a free digital publishing platform for the entire CUNY community, where you can create and share your own scholarship, custom classroom versions of texts and textbooks that are openly licensed or in the public domain, Open Educational Resources (OER), journals, or use Manifold Reading Groups to build your own course reader from materials already available on our instance of Manifold.
