Hi everyone–probably many of you saw this on the AAEEBL list, but I’m passing it along here, too, just in case. Larry Fried, CIO at the New Community College, is asking for info widely–and the request can certainly go to CUNY folks, too!
You can answer Larry directly if you have info that can help.
(and happy new year!)

“I work as CIO for the New Community College of CUNY. We will have our first class of students this fall and the eportfolio will be a central part of our pedagogy.
We are thinking about establishing eportfolio guidelines & policies that will govern usage by our faculty & students, and I was wondering whether you could suggest any examples of best practices that have been established by your institution.
The policies and guidelines: in addition to access, privacy & copyright, I’m also looking for examples of policies addressing access by alumni and students who withdraw from the institution, as well as misuse of eportfolio resources by faculty or students. I’ve also provided our vendor’s (Digication) service agreement to our general counsel for their review. Any suggestions from others who deal with hosted eportfolio platforms as to stipulations that we should add would be appreciated as well.
Thanks in advance for any insights or suggestions that you can provide.”
