I am writing to share with you that, moving forward, we will consolidate Commencement into one event in May — gathering all graduates, their families, and the rest of the Hunter community. This allows us to focus on one larger event, which our students have told us they prefer.

Information about this year’s commencement for students who earn their degrees in the 2023–24 academic year will be posted on our website in January.

We wish you all a wonderful semester, and look forward to celebrating all of this year’s graduates at Commencement in the spring!

Bummer :/ the commencement ceremony is already long enough with just Spring & Summer / Fall & Winter semester grads. I find it hard to believe that students are asking for an even longer, less intimate and even less personal commencement ceremony…

Suggestion: Maybe the Dept of Sociology can have a department ceremony? For undergrad + grad students? It does not need to be in a grand venue- schools auditorium in the North Building could work!
