(1) to provide instructors with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to teach undergraduate courses at the various CUNY campuses effectively;
(2) to improve the teaching of psychology by exposing instructors to evidence-based teaching strategies and techniques, and by encouraging discussions about pedagogy, mentorship, and classroom teaching among doctoral students and faculty;
And (3) to encourage students and faculty across psychology and related disciplines to engage collaboratively in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning to assess learning outcomes and identify evidence of effective teaching.
The event is free and open to all, but we encourage those interested in attending to register in advance.
As an annual conference in its eighth consecutive year, Pedagogy Day provides an annual forum for doctoral students and faculty to come together to further their own professional development as teachers of psychology and related disciplines to better serve the students of New York City.
