So far in my readings, I have learned some things about international relations especially on realism and liberalism. The things that our country does is impacted by these two words but in different ways. Realism is mostly focused on the states and trying to bring in conflict with the rise of power at the same time. This mostly applies to the military who try to bring in more power as time goes by. Realism also tries to balance the power between many states or countries through their affairs in war. For this reason, there are groups who join together to form alliances to defeat maybe common enemies, but it never lasts. There will always be times where that same group might break apart and have a problem with themselves causing a shift in the balance of power while the meantime it can be recovered by another group joining the party to even out the situation. The realism form applies to the ruler as well since he is in the power of a whole state. The text mentions that some rulers can act like normal people because at one point in their power they have to resort to violence to protect their state or even their country.

In the world of Liberalism, it is completely different from realism in that it focuses on a different part. For liberalism, it mostly focused on giving each individual citizen their own freedom to an extend where the political laws and power aren’t taken away from them. In the case of war break out the military has to use all its power to protect themselves but if its a break out within the states by their own people they have to use less force to stop the fighting. For this politicians have applied rules were the citizens aren’t targeted forcefully in that their freedom and liberty aren’t at stake. Liberalism also helps each sate limit its power towards violating any treaty that a group has already agreed towards. I have also learned that the norm of liberalism helps us use very little power to change our behavior in a normal and accepted way.
