Title: CUNY Teaching and Learning Conference (2025)
Description: The CUNY Innovative Teaching Academy (CITA) is proud to announce its second CUNY-wide Teaching and Learning Conference, designed to support, elevate, and recognize faculty teaching excellence. Join us on April 3, 2025 (virtually) and April 4, 2025, (in person at the CUNY Graduate Center) as we bring together faculty, staff, and students from all campuses to explore innovative pedagogical practices, share insights, and inspire the future of education.
April 4, 1 pm – 2 pm
CUNY Graduate Center
Proshansky Auditorium
Instead of a traditional keynote with an outside speaker, we honor CUNY’s Teaching Experts with a special panel of experts. Join us to learn from three of CUNY’s own innovators in teaching and learning:- The (Al)Chemist: Do you like to play games?
Iva Burdett, Queens College - Playtime: Building Resilience in the CUNY Classroom
Sara Kotzin, Lehman College - Revisiting Baldwin’s ‘A Talk to Teachers’: Empowering Educators with Antiracist Pedagogy in Diverse Classrooms
Crystal I. Cunningham, Borough of Manhattan Community College
Conference Goals:
Promote pedagogical excellence: Recognize and celebrate outstanding teaching practices that transform the lives of students.
Share best practices: Create a forum for educators to exchange innovative ideas, strategies, research findings, and approaches to publishing scholarship in teaching and learning.
Inspire lifelong learning: Encourage a commitment to continuous professional development among educators and learners alike.
Foster collaboration: Facilitate connections and networking among participants from diverse educational backgrounds.
Advance educational technology: Explore the integration of technology in education and its impact on the learning experience.
We encourage all CUNY educators, including adjuncts and graduate teaching fellows, to participate and contribute to the growth of the academic community. We welcome faculty-student joint presentations. This conference is your opportunity to inspire, learn, and connect with your fellow educators.Location: CUNY Graduate Center
