LACUNY Scholarly Communications Roundtable: May lightning talks

  • Thanks to everyone who voted in the poll for the date/time of the May meeting of the LACUNY Scholarly Communications Roundtable, which will primarily consist of lightning talks on various aspects of peer review. The winning time is Tuesday, May 28 at 1:00-2:30pm.

If you’d like to attend the lightning talks, please register here.

And if you think you might like to give a lightning talk (5-7 minutes) on some aspect of peer review, please add your name to this Google Doc.

Topics can include: a less common or non-traditional form of peer review, your experience with a specific journal’s approach to peer review, a summary of an article examining a specific aspect of peer review, arguments for/against peer review, etc. Interested but need help picking a topic? Feel free to reach out to me, and we can bat some ideas around.

Note: There is no need to give a lightning talk in order to attend this event. Anyone interested in the complexities of peer review is welcome!

    All best,
    Jill

  • Just sent to CULIBS but resending here for anyone who might not be on CULIBS:

Just a friendly reminder that all are welcome to attend the May 28 meeting of the LACUNY Scholarly Communications Roundtable (1:00-2:30pm, on Zoom), which will feature lightning talks on various aspects of peer review. You’re welcome whether or not you’ve ever attended a Scholarly Communications Roundtable meeting before, and whether or not you want to give a lightning talk yourself.

If you’d like to attend the meeting, please register here.

At the moment, we have 5 (possibly 6) folks committed to giving lightning talks, and the session can probably accommodate 1 or 2 more. If you’d like to give a lightning talk, please sign up on this doc. (Topics can include: a less common or non-traditional form of peer review, your experience with a specific journal’s approach to peer review, a summary of an article examining a specific aspect of peer review, arguments for/against peer review, etc.)

I hope to see you there!
    Jill
