The Group for Group Admins

A meta-group for all of the Commons’ group admins so that the CUNY Academic Commons team can share information and keep you updated about changes to the site (and especially the Group interface). This group will also provide a way for us to get feedback from you about features you’d like to see added and ways we can improve the Group functionality.

    Hello all – I’m an academic (researcher and lecturer) who also has experience as a website, community and WordPress developer/administrator.  Pleasure to meet you all virtually.

    I’ve noticed that there aren’t any posts in this forum in over a year.  I’m experiencing several administrative challenges, such as outdated plugins, lacking the usual tools to correct some bugs I’ve discovered, some periodic slowdowns for forums, etc. Even the invitation here does not function properly as clicking on results in an error.

    I’m very enthusiastic about the Creative Commons and would love to work with you all to create an optimal enviroment our students would truly enjoy participating within. I see many great efforts and would enjoy connecting with those who are moving this project forward.

      YES, we need to do an update, long overdue on the FFPP site. We need to add lots more info to the site. In fact, I’ve been attempting to add another faculty to serve as admin – Anahi Viladrich of Queens College. Do you have a guide as to how I can get this done?

      Hi Michael,

      Thanks for checking in. Yes! the Commons is being actively used — more
      than ever, in fact! You may have noticed the pretty extensive redesign
      process we’ve been working on over the past year — detailed on our News
      blog – https://news.commons.gc.cuny.edu/ . And we have group redesigns
      coming this summer.

      I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’ve been experiencing. Please report
      them to our team by clicking the Help link in the upper right corner of the
      site, right next to your profile icon. We’d be happy to address the plugin
      issues you’ve noted and anything else that is going on.

      Our longtime host, the CUNY Graduate Center, has experienced some server
      instability in recent months. We’re currently exploring some alternative
      possibilities, and in the meantime, we’re working with the GC’s IT
      department to minimize disruption as much as possible.
