10/17 Meeting Notes

  • Hi all,

Thanks to everyone who participated in today’s LACUNY Scholarly Communications Roundtable meeting! Because we’re a pretty informal group, our meetings don’t have official minutes, but you can see meeting notes here (all meeting notes for 2023-24 will go into this doc).

Two things worth highlighting from today’s meeting:

    • Untenured library faculty interested in scholarly communication topics might also be interested in the LACUNY Junior Faculty Research Roundtable, “a forum for untenured CUNY library faculty to discuss their ideas and concerns as they work towards tenure and promotion. Topics covered include: the research and publication process, mentoring, promotion guidelines, and collegial collaboration.”
    • Next meeting: Wednesday, November 15 at 4-5pm. We’ll discuss two short articles about peer review — Owning the peer review process: If we have to do this work, we should own it by Charlotte Roh (recommended by Monica Berger) and one more TBD. Stay tuned for more info.

    Thanks!
    Jill (Roundtable Chair, 2023-24)
