Mariya Gluzman is an Instructional Designer at Brooklyn College Library & Academic IT, where she delivers comprehensive course design services, instructional technology training, and pedagogical support for faculty and academic programs.
As a member of the AIT Brightspace Team, Mariya contributed to the success of the college’s transition from Blackboard to Brightspace. She continues to provide training, consultation, and Brightspace support to BC faculty.
Since the early days of ChatGPT, Mariya has provided thoughtful reflections on AI’s impact on teaching and learning and offered mentorship and guidance for faculty and staff navigating these new technologies. She facilitates AI-focused professional development for faculty and staff and, through a partnership with the Brooklyn College Center for Teaching & Learning, delivers numerous informational and hands-on sessions to advance faculty AI literacy and fluency.
Recognizing the immediate need for formal campus guidance, she initiated a multidisciplinary collaborative project to create the Brooklyn College AI for Faculty guide. She advises faculty and staff on effective AI integration strategies and is contributing to the development of a student AI proficiency framework to inform Academic IT’s student workshop curriculum.
Drawing on two decades of experience as an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Philosophy, Mariya brings a unique, classroom-tested perspective to her instructional design practice. She is an active member of several CUNY communities of practice and working groups focused on digital pedagogy and the role of AI.
Mariya actively shares this expertise by presenting on digital learning, educational technology, and educational applications of AI at university system and national conferences, including most recently OLC Accelerate.
