I use qualitative and quantitative (corpus) methods to investigate the properties of varieties of English, the linguistics of hip hop culture, the linguistics of computer-mediated communication, and writing systems. My current research project investigates the use of and orientation toward English and Spanish varieties in US-Latinx hip hop.
