Elizabeth Mazzola

I am a Professor of English at City College where I teach classes on medieval and early-modern literature

I’m currently working on one project exploring Shakespeare’s Macbeth as a register of early modern confusions about where life begins and ends. A second project explores the ways early modern ballads approach women on the street and in the home.

Academic Interests

I am interested in medieval and early modern literature, literacy, and pedagogy. Some of my work centers on Shakespeare, Spenser, and Milton, but I am also interested in early women writers.
