I work on post-WWII American culture, Black literary production, and comics & graphic novels. Currently working on Illustrating the Race (Columbia),which queries representations of Black folks in comics published since 1966. My journalism has appeared in The New Republic, Entertainment Weekly, Salon.com, Medium, and the New Inquiry.
