Helen Kapstein earned her PhD in the Department of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University. She specializes in postcolonial literature and theory, contemporary British literature, cultural and media studies, and Anglophone African literature and culture. Her new book, Petroforms: Oil and the Shaping of Nigerian Aesthetics is now available from West Virginia UP.
