Francesca Lopez is an international PhD Student at The Graduate Center (CUNY, NY). She comes from Italy and lives in NYC since August 2021. Her expertise is in Gender and Media studies, focusing on the analysis of lethal gender based violence in TV crime show, horror and porn movies. She focuses on female corpses and how they are depicted by media. Further than that, she focuses also on monsters and mutants and their representation in fantasy narratives/media products. Francesca Lopez is also a feminist activist and a writer. Further than academic/scientific publications she also loves creative writing, based on life, love/relationships and fantasy tales for kids.
