Head of Reference

Elvis Bakaitis is a proud member of CUNY’s University LGBTQ Council, and Chair of the Preferred Names & Gender Subcommittee. They are a board member for CLAGS: The Center for LGBTQ Studies, as well as Chair of the CLAGS Archives Committee. Bakaitis has served as a Coordinator at the Lesbian Herstory Archives since 2014.

Co-curator of exhibit By the Force of Our Presence: Highlights from the Lesbian Herstory Archives, New York Historical Society (May 24-Sept 22, 2019).

Co-curator of traveling exhibit “Graphic Activism,” at the Ace Hotel, Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, The Graduate Center.
