Elizabeth Klein is a Clinical Professor of Special Education. Her teaching focus is on teaching of reading and writing for students with specific Learning Disabilities, techniques to build positive classroom culture and clinical practices. She currently leads a program for teachers in the New York City Teaching Fellows who teach students in District 75 schools. Elizabeth draws from years of experience in the field of education as a teacher, leader and curriculum developer. She has presented on numerous topics from vocabulary development to play-based pedagogy, trauma-informed classroom practices and feedback. Elizabeth was an ACERT Fellow at Hunter College from 2023-2024. She is also a Faculty Associate and curriculum designer as part of a decision making grant and is currently developing programs in dyslexia, dysgraphia and structured literacy. She is trained in peacemaking and conflict management and has integrated these practices into her coursework.
