Health Scholar at Maimonides Medical Center Emergency Room (September 2023 – January 2025)

  • – Accumulated 100+ hours of clinical and volunteer experience.
  • – Learned how to interpret ultrasounds and perform sutures.
  • – Received my CPR training and certification through this internship.
  • – Took vital signs for incoming patients.
  • – Facilitated communication between Spanish speaking patients and medical staff.
  • – Transported, disinfected, and prepared stretchers for incoming patients.
  • – Surveyed patients for a study conducted at Maimonides.
  • – Transported bodily samples from the emergency room to the hospital’s lab.
  • – Remained constantly attentive to the needs of patients by providing blankets, pillows, and food trays.

Volunteer at Saint Dominic’s Outreach Program (June 2023 – August 2023)

  • – Folded and sorted donated clothes, so they could be given to those in need.
  • – Served food and drinks to the needy during monthly dinners, which were hosted by the church.

  • – Granted for successfully completing AP Seminar, AP Research, and a minimum of four additional AP courses and exams with scores of 3 or higher.

AP Scholar with Distinction Award (2025)

  • – Granted for receiving scores of 3 or higher on 5 or more AP exams. I received a score of 5 on my AP Calc BC, Spanish Language and Culture, and Research exams. I received a score of 4 on the AP United States Government and Politics exam.

AP Scholar with Distinction Award (2024)

  • – Granted for receiving scores of 3 or higher on 5 or more AP exams. I received a score of 5 on my AP Calc AB, Chemistry, and Seminar exam. I received a score of 4 on the AP World and English Language and Composition exams.

The Archon National Honor Society (2024)

  • – Inducted into the archon honor society by accumulating service credits through activities such as joining clubs, monitoring teachers, and being part of a sports team.

The Arista National Honor Society (2024)

  • – Inducted into the arista honor society for maintaining above a 93% overall average over 5 semesters and demonstrating a record of service to my school.

The Midwood Scholars Program (2023)

  • – This award is for the top 10% of students in the Class of 2025 at Midwood High School. This is based on a student’s GPA on their high school transcripts.

Research Projects

Pre-Cardiac Heart Failure and Iron Deficiency (2024-2025)

  • – A classmate and I wrote a research paper about pre-cardiac heart failure and low iron deficiency. We were given data from the Study of Latinos database and drew conclusions based on the information given. We worked alongside a research fellow from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, who helped us throughout the process.
  • – My classmate and I would attend meetings with our mentor to discuss the data we were provided by the database.
  • – My classmate and I prepared slides based on our research paper and presented them at the 27th Annual American Chemical Society High School Science Fair at St. Joseph’s University. We received first place amongst the group we competed in.
