I like this idea! I am teaching a hybrid course in the fall, and this would be valuable until we meet for our first class. I found it easy to create, and I always let the students know I was once a student like them. I always try to be empathetic with student concerns. I will implement this introductory video on my course site.

This makes it easy for students to connect most concepts to themselves or their loved ones. This is when learning and the importance of education become easier to understand. Most students bring these conversations into the classrooms, and students learn from each other.

I created a collaborative assignment between 3 courses to teach them the connections and better assist their patients. My project is an interactive video explaining the patient’s case to them. This shows critical thinking, and most students think being in the clinic with live patients is fun and very useful.

I like to share things with students about myself and how I chose their career path, which they can connect to. I ask my students to do the same. We are a two-year program, so students become very close throughout the program.

I like to use a blackboard to have students introduce themselves and give us fun facts.

Higher education is critical to students since it gives a perspective of education outside their major. It can build and create more skills to develop their future.

The student’s motivation and engagement start in the classroom, but they need to understand why they need to understand the material. This keeps them involved and wants to learn.
