Bertie Ferdman is a contemporary performance scholar whose publications include Off Sites: Contemporary Performance beyond Site-Specific (SIU Press, 2018, Honorable Mention ATHE’s Outstanding Book Award), Critical Companion to Performance Art (Bloomsbury Press, 2020), and Curating Dramaturgies, co-edited with Peter Eckersall (Routledge, 2021). Her essays have appeared in TheaterTDRPAJTheatre JournalTheatre SurveyPerformance ResearchTCG, and HowlRound. Her current projects include research on the intersection of performance and artificial intelligence, (www.aiperformancelab.com) and a monograph on acting and authenticity. Bertie is Professor of Theater at BMCC and The Graduate Center, CUNY. Education: BA, Yale University; MA, NYU; PhD, The Graduate Center; and graduate of Lecoq School of Physical Theatre.
