Barrie Gelles is a PhD candidate in the Theatre and Performance Program at The Graduate Center, CUNY. She writes about the aesthetics of musical theatre, Jewishness and Broadway musicals, new pedagogical approaches, and the role of theatre practice in the academy. Barrie currently teaches at Baruch College, Marymount Manhattan College, and NYU.
