The Group for Group Admins

A meta-group for all of the Commons’ group admins so that the CUNY Academic Commons team can share information and keep you updated about changes to the site (and especially the Group interface). This group will also provide a way for us to get feedback from you about features you’d like to see added and ways we can improve the Group functionality.

How many levels of threads are in AC groups?

    Hi, new CUNY faculty here, setting up my sites+groups. For the discussion forums in the groups, how many levels of threads are there? There is probably a more technical term for this. I mean, can people respond to a response to the original post?

    I believe the nesting of replies can go quite deep. Your “reply” is placed underneath the particular comment. And then someone can reply to your reply. And the nesting can continue.

    You can also “quote” a comment. This restates the original comment in a text box, and clarifies what the person is commenting about. Unlike the “reply,” the “quote” and the subsequent comment will appear at the end of the discussion thread.
