The Group for Group Admins

A meta-group for all of the Commons’ group admins so that the CUNY Academic Commons team can share information and keep you updated about changes to the site (and especially the Group interface). This group will also provide a way for us to get feedback from you about features you’d like to see added and ways we can improve the Group functionality.

force response before seeing the response of others

    In our online teaching training, we were told that there are advantages to setting up your class discussion board so that students are only able to see others’ responses after they submit their own. Is that possible to do in AC?

    Hi Sofya – This functionality is not currently available with groups, although I can see that it might be a good suggestion for future group enhancements.

    Alternatively, you could create a site attached to your group. Your assignments could be created as pages or posts, and students’ responses could be entered as comments. In Settings>>Discussion, you could make the comments only appear when you manually approve them. This way the students would not see each others responses until the assignment is complete and you approve them all.
