Greetings from the Futures Initiative! We are excited to announce that our first event of the fall semester is approaching, and we hope you can join us on Wednesday, September 7th at 3pm. This is a hybrid event that will take place on Zoom and in the Skylight Room at the CUNY Graduate Center with opening remarks (in person!) from Chancellor Félix Matos Rodríguez and Provost Steve Everett. > In this interactive session, Cathy N. Davidson and Christina Katopodis, foremost innovators in higher education and authors of The New College Classroom (Harvard University Press, 2022), present the latest research on inspiring, effective, and inclusive learning. They share teaching strategies that anyone can adapt easily and effectively in every field. Additionally, they provide case studies of the participatory syllabus, flipped classrooms, ungrading, anti-racist pedagogies, and grab-and-go activities that educators around the world use every day to ensure their students’ success—and to revitalize their own commitment to a better, more democratic world.
