    Domain of One’s Own Educational Technologist

    Job Description:

    The Domain of One’s Own Educational Technologist will work with the Project Manager and other Educational Technologists to support faculty, staff, and students who create sites on Domain of One’s Own, a pilot test for cPanel hosting project. Support might entail assisting with login and registration issues, selecting and configuring web applications, identifying when an available application would be useful, advising on pedagogical practices with web-based projects, and escalating issues to the Project Manager.

    The Domain of One’s Own Educational Technologist will also create documentation, record training videos, and support faculty development workshops as needed. Topics for documentation could include answering common support requests; helping faculty, staff, and students understand the Domain of One’s Own interface; or assisting in launching new web projects on Domain of One’s Own.

    Ideal candidates will have educational technical support experience; an interest in new uses of free/libre/open-source software; a dedication to accessibility and universal design in web technologies; a commitment to balancing user privacy, security, and usability; and excellent communication skills. Past experience with faculty development, WordPress, and cPanel administration is preferred.

    This position does require partial on-campus hours, dependent on Baruch remote work agreements.
    This is a part-time (15-20 hours per week) IT Assistant position ($26.96-$30.44/hr).

    This position is for the 2024-2025 school year, with the possibility to renew.
    Qualifications:
    ● Bachelor’s degree completed and current or recent enrollment in a graduate program
    ● Previous technical support and teaching experience
    ● Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    ● Ability to commit to several in-person office hours per week
