    Join us for a session with sociology PhD alumna Nga Than, a machine learning engineer at TikTok. Dr. Than will talk about how she moved from the sociology program to a career in data science. In addition to talking about the strategies she used to make a career transition, she’ll also discuss her experience hiring for both full-time roles and internships. We’ll talk about:
    · How internships are a job and sometimes necessary for securing a full-time position
    · When during your degree program to look for an internship
    · How important it is to take your resume seriously (and not just submit your academic CV)
    · Why you should take interview preparation very seriously (particularly for internship interviews).
