During Bernie Sanders’ 2016 campaign there was a record number of support from young people. Sanders called for a political revolution to bring widespread reform within government in policies ranging from healthcare to education. Bernie’s call for change and transparency appealed widely to millennials. A large number of young voters registered to vote, joined his movement on social media, and participated in his campaigns. However, after he had lost the Democratic nomination, the enthusiasm and passion that had sparked the youth started to diminish. Many had given up on the movement at the first sight of loss.
