  • Dear class – Deleuze's thousand plateaus readings I suggested are extremely dense; If you are having trouble with chapters 5 and 7, here's what to do: here again is a pdf of the entire text:

read just the introduction, pp. 3-21. That gives you all of the concepts that are important in their approach. Then try the following: read rhizomically – search the whole book by keywords; use cloud function to cluster focuses, open random pages. If the introduction is correct, that you can start anyplace in the book, but if it doesn't, then think about why it doesn't. Intriguing is the fact that this book was first published (in french) in 1980, BEFORE the internet. yet these authors are considered significant for the internet. do the distinctions between molar and molecular, or rhizome and tree, or the concept of assemblage relevant for software, data, knowledge?
