Mapping User Group Meetings – Fall 2022

  • Hi, everyone.

The Mapping User Group will resume our biweekly meetings by next week. Our first meeting will be on Thursday Oct 6th, from 4-5pm. Here is the link for our sign-up form: https://forms.gle/Q1rcXrDqpnEbEBPy5

We would appreciate if everyone could sign up on that list, so we can keep track of how many people are expected to be present in the meetings for each data, and their respective programs.Additionally, you can let us know through this form if there is any specific dataset you would like to be working on in some of the meetings (either your own data you would need help with or a third party data you think would be interesting to create a map for). We have our tentative schedule for this semester below, with some topics lined up for each meeting, but these are totally open to change based on the demand of every person attending the meetings.

Oct 6th – Introductions and discussions on the scientific and social use of maps

Oct 20th – What do we need for mapping? Preparing your data

Nov 3rd – Discussion on softwares

    Nov 17th – Hands-on with QGIS I

    Dec 1st – Hands-on with QGIS II

Dec 15th – Okay, you made a map. What next?

    Hope to see you there!
