Sixth Street Community Center, as pioneers in urban sustainability and in collaboration with a local community garden, El Jardín del Paraiso on E 5th Street between Aves C & D, run a compost program where CSA members are able to drop off their food scraps for composting.

Benefits of composting:

• reduces waste that ends up in landfills
• conserves water
• strengthens and reinforces our soil

Curbside Composting service is also now available to ALL NYC residents citywide if you are not local to LES.
