The Organization I chose for the final assignment is the Trust for Governors Island. Governors Island is often known for the music festival that was held there for many years. What people don’t know, is that Governors Island is pioneering sustainability and climate neutral operations. They offer opportunities for research and development of solutions for sustainability in New York City. This year they are offering a pilot programming for small companies or innovators to test early-stage climate products and services addressing climate change, climate mitigation, and/or environmental justice on Governors Island. This years theme focuses on a circular economy to combat New York City’s massive waste problem.
