    Applications are now open for innovators to test early-stage climate products and services addressing climate change, climate mitigation, and/or environmental justice on Governors Island, thanks to a new piloting program led by Trust For Governors Island. Winning projects receive a $10,000 prize and access to grants up to $20,000.

    WHO: Climate innovators, startups, and companies working on urban climate solutions (including those led by underrepresented founders).

    WHAT: The 2025 Climate Solutions Challenge – a chance to test your climate technologies, win a $10,000 prize, access grants up to $20,000, and get direct technical support!

    WHEN: Applications are open now until December 5, 2024! The program starts May 1, 2025.

    WHERE: Governors Island, NYC – a 43-acre climate-resilient park with 7 miles of car-free streets and 50+ historic buildings. Over 1 million visitors per year!

    WHY: To test your solutions in a real world environment, get exposure, and help tackle NYC’s waste problem through circular economy innovations.
