Of course it was a disaster.
    That unbearable, dearest secret
    has always been a disaster.
The danger when we try to leave.
    Going over and over afterward
    what we should have done
    instead of what we did.
    But for those short times
we seemed to be alive. Misled,
    misused, lied to and cheated,
    certainly. Still, for that
    little while, we visited
    our possible life.
Have been reading Bruce ‘Chatwin’s The Song Lines and The Anthe Anatomy of Restlessness and wondering if we want to meet for the really last time (so not tomorrow at 4, those who can, since I HAVE to be in something about Max Jacob at 6 and aanyway at 4:30 as we always have when we can) but ALSO on Monday the 19 at 4:30 to hear what we have all been doing and reading and thinking and pondering, oh, you know…
see you or some of you all domani, as in demain, as in mañanain ?tomorrow
    m.a.

  • I will be so sorry not to meet after October. Is there a chance to
set up more meetings or continue 1/ month or more?

    Please.

I too read Jack Gilbert’s poem today and thought of your sensibilities in
    this
“course” as I have glimpsed barely these sensibilities.

I know so little about these 20th century artists, poets, thinkers and have
    learned
so much from all of you, especially Mary Ann.

    Thank you all.
Will try to drop in tomorrow
and again next Monday the 19th.

Thank you Merci Grazie Gracias, Danke, THANK YOU.

I hope to be there tomorrow and if we meet on the 19th! The last two lines of that poem really stay with me.
